Don't hold me to everything I say on this page. Some items are subject to change. But I thought you'd be interested in what's on my mind for 2000.
I would like to experiment with using foam latex to make a mask. Whether this will be cost-effective to sell or will be as durable as the current liquid latex style remains to be seen.
Some have asked about "celebrity" masks such as Cindy Crawford. Legal considerations aside, I doubt I'd be able to re-create something that precisely (though any of you are welcome to try).
Up until now I haven't sold gloves for the simple reason the ones I've made haven't been very good. They are extremely small and tend to fall apart after a few uses. But thanks to the efforts of some folks out there, it's possible realistic-looking latex gloves might be offered in the near future. Stay tuned.
In May 1998 I took delivery of a foam latex Female Bodysuit made by a professional FX company. It wasn't a complete success but the fiberglass molds that were created for it have proved useful. I have used them to make an experimental full body latex bodysuit as well as torso pieces.
At some point soon I want to start production on a feature-length movie involving a masked-theme. I've also thought about doing a documentary. Interested in helping? (and close to Seattle?) Drop me a line.
Maskon was held two years in a row over Halloween in San Francisco. Currently there aren't any plans for one in 2000, but perhaps in the future. Stay tuned to this site for more details as they are made.
Meanwhile, I continue to edit the Mask Mailing List for those who just wish to lurk, pass on their thoughts and ideas, or learn what others are up to. Subscribe today, it's free, and well worth reading.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you found it interesting.
