A little about myself to start off with.
I've enjoyed costumes and masks since those first scary Halloween Trick or Treat nights when I was 5 or 6 years old. Other influences were undoubtedly comic books and early TV. If you can remember Captain Video and His Video Rangers, then perhaps you will realize that, yes, I am an old fart! I still enjoy sci-fi today and I am an avid reader.
I am an admitted cross-dresser although what brought this on I'm not sure. Actually, I never admitted it to myself until just a few years ago. I have no desire to change my sex and I don't ever expect to be able to pass in public. It is just something I enjoy doing and sharing with a few other friends. In my female persona I often use the name Tasha.
I know many of the Female Mask site visitors are also CD's. Like many of you I used to question why I do what I do. Not too long ago I came across the following statement. I can't express these thoughts any better myself, so here they are: "I don't have any astounding philosophies and don't subscribe to a lot of psycho babble about being a screwed up individual with a reverse Oedipus schmedipus something or other kind of complex. Here's all the advice you will get from me. Be yourself. Don't beat yourself up trying to explain it (unless you're into self abuse, then it's perfectly fine). Have a good time. Deal with it or don't do it. Stay out of harm's way."
